If you’re into the Perry Mason courtroom mysteries—either the books or the classic television series—you will have a great time with Erle Stanley Gardner’s 69th edition—The Case of the Amorous Aunt.

Of course, Perry Mason, his ever-capable secretary Della Street, and the unflappable private detective Paul Drake are all back.  And none have aged a bit even though this novel was published in 1963—a full 30 years after the very first Perry Mason novel.

The Case of the Amorous Aunt pits Mason, the big city defense attorney, against a small-town district attorney keen to be David against Mason’s Goliath.  Along the way, there are the usual double-crosses, red herrings and cover-ups all building up to Mason’s trademark eleventh hour reveal—exonerating his client and unmasking the real killer.

It’s all vintage Mason—the same formula used about 68 times before the release of this book.  Somehow, though, it doesn’t get old.  You’ll still find yourself hooked on the story from the start—beginning with another great title:  The Case of the Amorous Aunt.
